Name any color: pink, blue, purple, green, red, brown, gray, blonde, black.. and I have probably had it as my hair color. I started coloring my hair when I was in third grade. At first, I just colored my hair red with light color few times a year. But later I started changing my hair color almost every month. Whenever I got bored with my look or found sudden inspiration somewhere, I colored my hair again.
Sometimes I started thinking about growing back my natural hair color, but I was afraid of the growing process. Also, I wasn’t sure anymore what my natural hair color was. After two ruined hair colors I decided to go more natural. First I went to a hairdresser and colored my hair dark brown with some highlights. Four months after that I went to a hairdresser again and added more highlights. At this point, my hair was light brown. Then I decided to totally stop coloring my hair. I started growing out my own hair color. The process wasn’t that awful because my own hair color was pretty close to the light brown highlights.
Now I have only my own natural hair color. The whole process took me two years. So how does it feel to have natural hair color after thirteen years of hair coloring? I feel more confident about my hair because now I know that this color actually fits me. My hair is also in better shape now. I’m no longer interested in coloring my hair at all but I’m still going to grow my hair longer, probably as long as it can grow.
If you have been thinking about growing your natural hair out, I encourage you to do it! Try to find a color that is close to your natural hair color so your hair won’t look so bad during the process. Few years spent on growing your hair will be worth it!
